Sustainability + compliance
We keep used IBC totes in circulation with wash validation, repair logs, and verified recycling partners.
Our environmental commitment
Every IBC we recondition is a container saved from premature disposal. Our closed-loop approach extends container lifecycles, reduces raw material consumption, and helps our customers meet their sustainability goals while saving money on industrial packaging.
Our environmental impact
The circular economy in action
Traditional packaging follows a linear model: manufacture, use, dispose. Our approach keeps containers circulating as long as possible, extracting maximum value from embodied resources before responsible recycling.
Collection
We pick up used IBCs from manufacturers, reducing the burden of disposal and transportation on our customers.
Assessment
Each container is evaluated for reuse potential. Containers that can be reconditioned continue in circulation.
Reconditioning
Cleaning, repair, and inspection restore containers to service-ready condition with documented quality.
Redistribution
Reconditioned IBCs go back to manufacturers who need reliable, cost-effective bulk containers.
Repeat
The cycle continues 3-5 times on average, maximizing the value of each container's embodied resources.
Responsible Recycling
When containers reach end of life, materials are separated and sent to certified recyclers.
Reuse first
Our internal scoring system flags repairable units, converting them into Grade A or Grade B supply rather than scrap. This approach maximizes the useful life of every container that enters our facility.
A typical IBC contains approximately 150 pounds of HDPE plastic and 75 pounds of steel. When we extend its life through reconditioning, we preserve the energy and resources that went into manufacturing those materials.
Reconditioning priorities:
- Containers with minor wear are cleaned and returned to service
- Damaged components are repaired or replaced rather than scrapping the unit
- Only containers with fundamental structural issues move to recycling
- Average container sees 3-5 additional use cycles after reconditioning
Recycle smart
Stainless cages and HDPE bottles are separated on-site for certified material recovery. When a container truly reaches end of life, we ensure its materials enter the recycling stream rather than the landfill.
Our on-site recycling center disassembles end-of-life IBCs, separating materials by type for maximum recyclability. We work exclusively with certified downstream partners who verify material recovery.
Recycling process:
- HDPE bottles shredded and baled for plastic recyclers
- Steel cages cut and sorted for metal recovery
- Valves and fittings sorted for material-specific recycling
- Pallets assessed for repair or wood/composite recycling
Water management
Industrial cleaning requires significant water. We've invested in systems that minimize consumption and treat discharge responsibly.

Certifications and compliance
UN/DOT Compliance
Our reconditioning processes maintain UN and DOT compliance for containers used in hazardous material transport. We verify markings, assess structural integrity, and document all relevant specifications.
Containers that no longer meet UN specifications are clearly marked and segregated for non-regulated uses only.
Food-grade certification
Our dedicated food-grade wash line meets FDA requirements for containers used with food ingredients. Separate equipment, approved cleaning agents, and strict protocols prevent cross-contamination.
Food-grade containers are stored separately and tracked through our system to maintain their certification status.
EPA compliance
Our facility operates under all applicable EPA regulations for waste handling, water treatment, and air quality. We hold required permits and undergo regular inspections.
Third-party environmental audits verify our compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
State environmental permits
We maintain all required state permits for industrial cleaning operations, wastewater discharge, and materials handling. Permit conditions are integrated into our standard operating procedures.
Regular reporting ensures we meet all permit requirements and renewal deadlines.
