Our mission

To extend the useful life of every IBC container through professional reconditioning, transparent grading, and responsible recycling—reducing industrial waste while delivering reliable, cost-effective packaging solutions to manufacturers across the Midwest and beyond.

Who we are

ReconditionedIBC.com operates one of the Midwest's most comprehensive IBC reconditioning facilities. What started as a small transport operation in 2011 has grown into a full-service container lifecycle company processing over 15,000 IBCs annually.

Our team of 45+ professionals includes certified wash technicians, experienced repair specialists, logistics coordinators, and compliance experts. We combine industrial-scale processing capacity with the attention to detail that quality-conscious buyers demand.

Every IBC that passes through our facility is individually tracked, inspected, and documented. This commitment to traceability has made us a trusted partner for food manufacturers, chemical distributors, and pharmaceutical companies who require audit-ready documentation.

What drives us

The industrial packaging industry generates millions of tons of waste annually. A single IBC container represents significant embodied energy—from the petroleum in the HDPE bottle to the steel in the cage frame. When these containers are discarded after one use, that investment is lost.

We believe in a circular economy where containers are used, cleaned, repaired, and reused until they truly reach end of life. Only then do we responsibly recycle the materials through certified downstream partners.

This philosophy isn't just environmentally responsible—it creates real value for our customers. Reconditioned IBCs cost 40-60% less than new containers while meeting the same performance and compliance standards.

Our core values

Transparency

Every IBC comes with complete documentation—wash certificates, inspection reports, residue history, and UN marking verification. We believe informed buyers make confident decisions, and we never hide information that affects container suitability.

Quality without compromise

Our grading system is strict and consistent. A Grade A container from our facility meets the same standards today as it did five years ago. We reject containers that don't meet grade specifications rather than downgrading quality to make a sale.

Environmental responsibility

Sustainability isn't a marketing message—it's our business model. We track every pound of material diverted from landfills, recover and treat wash water, and work exclusively with certified recycling partners for end-of-life containers.

Customer partnership

We succeed when our customers succeed. That means understanding your production schedules, compliance requirements, and budget constraints. Many of our largest accounts started with a single test order and grew into multi-year partnerships.

Continuous improvement

Our processes evolve constantly. We invest in new wash technology, refine our inspection criteria, and upgrade our tracking systems. Customer feedback directly influences how we operate and what services we develop.

Safety first

Our facility operates under strict OSHA compliance with regular safety training for all staff. Proper handling of residues, chemicals, and equipment protects our team, our customers, and the environment.

Our facility

Our 85,000 square foot facility in Joliet, Illinois houses everything needed for complete IBC lifecycle management under one roof.

Receiving yard

Incoming IBCs are staged, photographed, and logged into our tracking system. High-volume sellers get dedicated unloading bays with same-day processing capability. We handle 50-100 incoming containers daily.

Inspection station

Trained technicians evaluate each container using our 47-point inspection checklist. Structural integrity, valve function, bottle condition, and pallet stability are all assessed and documented before any processing begins.

Wash line

Our automated wash system processes up to 200 IBCs per shift with consistent temperature, pressure, and detergent concentration. Separate wash streams handle food-grade, industrial, and specialty cleaning requirements.

Repair bay

Eight repair stations handle everything from valve replacement to full cage rebuilds. We stock OEM-quality replacement parts for all major IBC brands and can fabricate custom solutions for specialty containers.

Clean storage

Reconditioned IBCs are stored in climate-controlled areas organized by grade, size, and customer reservation. Our inventory management system tracks location, wash date, and grade for every container in stock.

Recycling center

End-of-life containers are dismantled on-site. HDPE bottles are shredded and baled, steel cages are cut and sorted, and all materials flow to certified recycling partners with full chain-of-custody documentation.

Our team

Our success comes from experienced professionals who understand industrial packaging from every angle—logistics, compliance, repair, and customer service.
